Police in France arrested five suspects on Monday in connection with a deadly knife attack that took place at the Paris police headquarters earlier this month. One of those arrested is an Islamic religious leader.
Four Paris police officers were stabbed to death in the October 3 attack. The attacker, who was killed during the assault, worked in police intelligence’s anti-Islamist division, although he himself was reportedly a radicalized Muslim.
The Islamic religious leader who was arrested Monday was an imam at the same mosque at which the attacker worshiped. He was allegedly known to French authorities as a security risk.
