A majority of Americans think President Donald Trump will be reelected in November, according to results of a recent survey by Gallup.
The research group surveyed 1,023 American adults between September 14 and September 28. One survey question asked, "Regardless of whom you support, and trying to be as objective as possible, who do you think will win the election in November?"
Fifty-six percent of all respondents said they believe Trump will win, while only 40% said they believe Democratic nominee Joe Biden will be victorious. Ninety percent of Republicans said they believe Trump will win, and 73% of Democrats said they believe Biden will win. Among independents, 56% reported they believe Trump will win, while only 39% said Biden will win.
"The prediction of a Trump victory is not consistent with the average of recent national presidential vote-preference polls, which show Biden with a significant lead, but it is consistent with Americans' expectation of a victory for the incumbent president in every race in which one has been running," a Gallup analysis of the results reads.
