Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and nephew of former President George W. Bush, said on Tuesday that he plans to vote for President Trump in the 2020 election.

"Trump is the only thing standing between America and socialism," George P. Bush said in a statement to Texas outlets. "Even in a global pandemic where we have had to take unprecedented measures to protect public health, the economy is already returning. It's clear, America and Texas will continue to be stronger than ever."

Bush's comments come just days after a New York Times piece saying that George W. Bush would not support Trump. That claim has since been refuted by a spokesperson for the former president. The Times also reported that Jeb Bush is unsure how he will vote.

George P. Bush backed Trump in the 2016 election and voiced support again as he began his reelection campaign in 2018.
