George Zimmerman, the Florida man who gained notoriety seven years ago after killing unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, is suing Martin's family and several others for $100 million.

The lawsuit accuses the Martin family of orchestrating a "false narrative" by compelling witnesses to lie during their testimony. Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges related to the 2012 killing.

Also named in the suit are prosecutors who oversaw Zimmerman's 2012 trial, as well as the publisher Harper Collins, due to its having published a book, titled "Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People," written by the Martin family's attorney.
