Following the lead of Florida, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order on Tuesday prohibiting any state agency or political entity in his state from creating any form of "vaccine passport."
Abbott said that no individual should be forced to offer up their vaccination status in order to receive state services.
Though the order would not necessarily apply to private businesses, which would still be able to set restrictions for patrons, Abbott made clear that any organization or company receiving public funds would be held to the order's guidelines.
