Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg recently spoke out against President Joe Biden's environmental policies, suggesting that his efforts do not go far enough in combatting the perils of climate change.
Thunberg appeared on MSNBC's Mehdi Hasan Show Sunday. Despite her frequent criticisms of former President Donald Trump, the teenager said that her youth and inexperience precluded her from rendering any judgments on President Biden's climate agenda. Still, she said, the president's plans are "not nearly enough in line with the science."
Hasan took on the role of Biden apologist, arguing that he had done a significant amount of work to push climate issues into the public spotlight. The host mentioned Biden's decision to rejoin the Paris agreement and appoint John Kerry as climate czar.
Thunberg acknowledged those efforts but said she wants Biden to "treat the climate crisis like a crisis," not a "political topic." She did not articulate a policy that she thought the president should implement.
