The U.S. hit a milestone over the weekend, with the CDC reporting that half of U.S. adults have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. More than 32% of American adults are fully vaccinated against the infection.
Of Americans over the age of 18, 50.4% have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, with that number jumping to 81% for seniors 65 years of age and older. Almost two-thirds of all U.S. seniors are fully vaccinated.
The current vaccination rate, according to White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients, stands at nearly 3.3 million people per day.
President Biden had set a goal of 200 million vaccines administered during his first 100 days in office. The new numbers from the CDC indicate that the country is on track to reach that milestone.
