Officials in Seattle on Monday announced the third and fourth deaths due to coronavirus in that city, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths in America to six and stoking new fears over the virus' slow march through the United States.
Authorities said five of the deaths in Washington state are located in King County, where officials say numerous coronavirus cases have arisen at a local nursing home. It was not immediately clear if those five deaths had occurred at that facility or outside of it.
The other fatality occurred in Snohomish County, around two hours away from King County. Officials said the virus has not yet been detected outside of those two locations, but that "it is possible the virus is spreading in other counties, too."
