A criminal who slashed the tires of multiple people at two churches in Palos Hills, Illinois, was motivated by anti-Christian bias, local authorities said last week.
The criminal, Osama E. El Hannouny, was originally arrested in November and charged with 14 counts of criminal damage to property. On Thursday, police upgraded those charges to 14 counts of hate crimes after Hannouny confessed to slashing the tires due to his dislike of Christians. The tires in question were cut at two different churches.
Hannouny, whose next court date is February 19, is currently subject to electric monitoring while released.
