A pizza joint in West Branch, Iowa, received a wonderful surprise when a local resident donated the entirety of their coronavirus stimulus check to help the business stay afloat during the pandemic.
Herb N' Lou's Pizza has remained closed even as it received the all-clear from public officials to open up. Owner Terri Hazelwood told local media that remaining closed for the time being was the "best choice for the safety of my employees and the community as a whole."
The shop has been able to remain in business, but has lost about half of its income from the dining room being closed. People have been sending cash donations to help the business, including one entire coronavirus stimulus check.
"We really are all in this together. It has meant the world to us," Hazelwood said.
