About a quarter of Americans believe President Trump is a religious person, according to results of a new poll released Wednesday by Politico/Morning Consult.
Among 1,992 registered voters, 27% said they "somewhat or strongly agree" Trump is religious, while 55% said they "somewhat or strongly disagree." People who said they are Christians were a bit more likely to believe the president is a man of faith, with a little more than 33% responding that they do, while half said they do not.
Groups most likely to view Trump as religious include Republicans at 60% and ideological conservatives at 55%.
The poll was conducted on June 6 and 7, following Trump's controversial walk to St. John's Episcopal Church.
