Jamaican Olympic sprinter and medalist Yohan Blake says he would miss the Tokyo Olympics before he would receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
"My mind still stays strong, I don't want any vaccine, I'd rather miss the Olympics than take the vaccine, I am not taking it," Blake told The Gleaner, a Jamaican newspaper. "I don't really want to get into it now, but I have my reasons."
The International Olympic Committee does not currently require a COVID-19 vaccine for athletes to participate in the games, which are scheduled to begin July 23.
This year's Olympic games would be Blake's third and possibly his last. He is 31 years old.
