Japan announced it will be closing all schools nationwide to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

All primary, middle, and high schools will remain closed until spring holidays in late March per the request of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Japan now has more than 890 cases of the coronavirus, including 705 from a quarantined cruise ship. There is growing concern about the increase of untraceable cases in northern Japan.
