Hours after presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced his selection of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate, President Trump posted a video with the title, "Joe Biden has a racism problem."
The video features six audio clips of racist statements made by Biden over the years.
- "What you all know, but most people don't know. Unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things." (August 5, 2020)
- "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black." (May 22, 2020)
- "Poor kids are just as talented and just as bright as white kids." (August 8, 2019)
- "My Democratic colleagues don't like me saying this but the two party system is good for the south and good for the negro, good for the black." (May 18, 1973)
The video also includes a clip of Harris confronting Biden in 2019 saying it was hurtful to hear Biden talk about "two United States senators who built their reputation and career on the segregation of race in this country."
When Harris asked if he would apologize, Biden replied, "Apologize for what?"
