Former vice president and current Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said in an interview with Axios on HBO that he does not know what his son Hunter did for Ukranian gas company Burisma.
Biden's son Hunter has received harsh criticism for being paid large amounts of money for sitting on the Burisma board while Biden was serving as the vice president. Biden told Axios that while he has not investigated what Hunter was doing while working in Ukraine, he believes his son did nothing wrong.
"I don't know what he was doing. I know he was on the board. I found out he was on the board after he was on the board and that was it," Biden said.
He also said he does not want to investigate, because "I trust my son."
Biden said his family will be banned from making money overseas, citing President Trump's family members' government and business conflicts of interests, rather than Hunter Biden's Ukrainian position.
"They will not be engaged in any foreign business because of what's happened in this administration," Biden said.
