Former Vice President Joe Biden sustained a foot and ankle injury while playing with his dog over the weekend.
"On Saturday Nov. 28, President-elect Biden slipped while playing with his dog Major and twisted his ankle," a statement from Biden's office said. "Out of an abundance of caution, he will be examined this afternoon by an orthopedist."
Biden was taken to Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists for treatment, but further details were not immediately available because Biden's team blocked reporters from entering the office.
Later, Biden was taken to Omega Professional Center for a CT scan that revealed a series of hairline fractures that will reportedly put the former vice president in a walking boot.
