In a reaction to backlash Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) received after taking a trip to Mexico during a winter storm, podcast host Joe Rogan questioned what Cruz could have actually done had he stayed.
"But here's the thing," Rogan asked his guest, comedian Tim Dillon. "What can he do? What is the reason for him staying?"

The pair agreed that the problem was more about optics.
"Can he make it warm out?" Rogan asked.
"No, I don't think he has any power to do anything good," Dillon responded.
Cruz and his family took a trip to Cancun, Mexico, last week after a winter storm caused statewide power blackouts in Texas. After he was photographed on a plane on Wednesday, backlash prompted Cruz to make the return trip from Cancun to Texas on Thursday.
