Former secretary of state and former presidential candidate John Kerry has formally endorsed Joe Biden in his bid for the White House, declaring that Biden's "ability to persevere" is "critical" to forcing Trump out of office.
Kerry, also a former senator, told The Washington Post that he intends to join the former vice president in Iowa and New Hampshire to help with his campaign and will assist the candidate in the months ahead. Biden currently remains the frontrunner of the Democratic field.
Kerry stressed his support of various other Democratic candidates, although he noted that he still favored Biden overall. He called his endorsement of Biden "a recommendation and a rationale" for voters.
