A judge has dropped charges against Baptist pastor Afshin Yaghtin, who was arrested at a Drag Queen Story Hour event at a public library after he refused to move to a "protest zone," saying the police order violated his First Amendment rights.
Yaghtin "made comments to police that suggested that he disagreed with the sponsored event," but was not engaged in any sort of protest behavior, such as waving signs or yelling, the judge said.
"We are thankful justice prevailed and Pastor Yaghtin can continue to shepherd his community with confidence," said Jorge A. Ramos, Yaghtin's attorney.
? Drag Queen Story Hour is an organization that schedules events at public libraries nationwide in which drag queens read books to children.
