Kanye West tweeted very early on Monday to announce that his anticipated new album “Jesus Is King” will be released this Friday, October 25:
A blue vinyl image accompanied the tweet, which was West’s first since January 1.
🔦 The album’s release date is the same day Kanye’s new film, also titled “Jesus is King,” is set to be released. In the trailer for the film, the rapper and producer makes several intriguing statements coinciding with his recent experience of being born again as a Christian:
- “We’re here to spread the gospel”
- “I’m an evangelist”
- “we’re here to save souls — save people from eternal damnation”
- “I use art to make believers”
Short clips of songs from “Jesus is King” which have surfaced hint at strong Christian themes in West’s new album.
