Kanye West, who announced he was running for president in a July 4 tweet, has filed to appear on the New Jersey ballot in November's presidential election, state documents indicate.

The 43-year-old rap artist garnered 1,327 signatures, exceeding the 800 required by the deadline on Monday to be considered an independent candidate.

West also submitted documents on Monday to appear on the Missouri ballot and has plans to apply for the presidential ballot in New York, which requires a total of 30,000 signatures by Thursday.

🔦 Earlier this month, West filed both a Statement of Candidacy and Statement of Organization with the Federal Commissions Election. He also filed the $35,000 fee to appear on the Oklahoma ballot.
