London police shot and killed a man on Friday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed several people, killing two, near London Bridge. The event has been deemed a "terrorist incident," and London Metropolitan Police say it believes "a number of people have been injured."
A police spokesperson told reporters that authorities currently believe that the device strapped to the suspect's body was a hoax explosive. Another man was allegedly seen walking away with a long knife.
"We must — and we will — stay resolute in our determination to stand strong and united in the face of terror," the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said in a statement on Twitter. "Those who seek to attack us and divide us will never succeed."
The bridge is currently shut down due to police investigation.
