The man who drove a van into a tent of GOP volunteers outside a Florida Walmart told law enforcement that he dislikes President Trump and that "someone had to take a stand."
The tent was set up for a voter registration drive and outfitted with Trump signs and clothing. Gregory Timm was arrested after he told a deputy from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office that he drove the vehicle into the tent. Volunteers had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. The van knocked down tables and chairs, and Timm "flipped off" the volunteers before leaving the scene, volunteers said.
The arrest report from the incident was originally released heavily redacted, and Timm's statement about Trump was unable to be read. The same report was later filed online for court, with less information redacted.
