A masked robber entered a Raising Cane's restaurant wielding a gun on Saturday night. He did not know that on the other side of the restaurant sat married couple Chase and Nicole McKeown.

That would be Detective Chase McKeown and his wife, Officer Nicole McKeown.

The two married, off-duty Elizabethtown police officers saw the robbery-in-progress and immediately sprang into action, drew their weapons, and charged at the would-be robber, forcing him to drop his gun and flee.

Not stopping there, they pursued the suspect, 30-year-old Justin Carter, eventually overtaking and subduing him in a nearby backyard and holding him at gunpoint until on-duty officers could arrive and take the criminal into custody.

The whole scene was captured on video, along with the brave officers' reactions:

Arrest records say that the gun Carter's used in his failed robbery attempt was stolen. He remains at Metro Corrections on a $50,000 cash bond.
