Iran's Revolutionary Guard lost another leader Wednesday, as masked gunmen riding a motorcycle shot and killed a local commander of the guard's Basij forces, a paramilitary wing of the Revolutionary Guard.
The man, Abdolhossein Mojaddami, was an associate of the late Qassem Soleimani, Iran's top general and leader of the Quds force, which carries out terror strikes internationally and supports other terrorist organizations.
Mojaddami was killed in an ambush in front of his home in Darkhoein, a town in the southwestern part of Iran. Many demonstrators died or were injured when Basij members violently cracked down on protests in the area last November.
