Men who use digital apps to study the Bible end up reading more of the holy book but remembering less of it, a new study shows.

Though women read and remembered the Bible at roughly equal rates both digitally and on paper, men retained less if reading it electronically, according to a report in the Journal of Religion, Media, and Digital Culture.

Nearly half of respondents said they prefer a hard copy when reading the Bible to children in order to “foster a healthy respect for the Bible.”
