Michigan and Washington have joined a growing list of states and cities that are shutting down bars, restaurants, and other entertainment venues in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Monday ordered restaurants and bars to close starting at 3 p.m. on Monday. Carry out and delivery options will still be available, but customers will not be allowed to eat in at the establishments.
Michigan banned gatherings of 250 or more people on Friday.
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee made a similar announcement, shutting down restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues until March 31. Restaurants will be available for take-out and delivery only.
Inslee also limited the size of gatherings to just 50 people.
? New York City and Los Angeles instituted similar restrictions.
