Ten years after releasing Windows 7, Microsoft has ended its support for the program.

In a post on the "Windows support" section of the company's website, Microsoft said that:

"Technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC are no longer available for the product. Microsoft strongly recommends that you move to Windows 10 to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available."

Windows 7 is reportedly used on a third of PCs worldwide. Windows 10 is the most popular PC operating system, running on approximately half of PCs.
