Minister after Texas church shooting: "I’m thankful our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves"

After a gunman opened fire during Sunday morning service in his church before being quickly shot dead by an armed church member, West Freeway Church of Christ Senior Minister Britt Farmer spoke out with gratitude for Texas laws which allow congregants to carry weapons in places of worship:

After praising the governor and law enforcement for their competence and kindness, Farmer said:

"We lost two great men today. But it could have been a lot worse. And I am thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves."

? A new Texas law went into effect three months ago which allows congregants to carry weapons in places of worship.
