Photos, videos: Rioters torch Minneapolis police station as destruction, looting intensify

Destruction and looting proliferated overnight as violent protests over the death of George Floyd continue to grow in scope and intensity.

Before the third precinct building was torched, Minneapolis police officers were forced to abandon the station, as rioters chased them and hurled objects at their squad vehicles:

The police station was far from the only building damaged. Authorities said just after midnight that there had been "more than 170 businesses damaged or looted. Dozens of fires":

President Trump warned early Friday that he would send the military in if local and state authorities were unable to get the situation under control:

Twitter censored the tweet from the president for "glorifying violence."
