Missouri has become America's first "abortion-free state," after all 45 abortion facilities in the state have closed or ceased performing abortions, according to a report from pro-life organization Operation Rescue

"Reproductive Health Services Planned Parenthood in St. Louis was the last abortion facility in Missouri," the report said. "It remains open, but Operation Rescue has confirmed that no abortion appointments have been available there for months, and none are available anytime in the foreseeable future. All abortion appointments are now being referred to the Fairview Heights Planned Parenthood facility across the Mississippi River in Illinois."

There is only a 16-mile difference between the St. Louis Planned Parenthood and the one in Fairview Heights that still performs surgical and chemical abortions. But pro-life groups still celebrated that no facility was currently terminating the lives of unborn babies within the borders of Missouri.

🔦 Missouri was recently ranked as the 8th most pro-life state in America, behind Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Indiana, Kansas, and Arizona. Americans United for Life creates those rankings on the basis of "law and policy protections for human life" within each state.
