Mitt Romney now polls higher among Democrats than Republicans

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) now polls higher among Democrats than among members of his own party, a likely consequence of the politician's regular break from conservative orthodoxy and his periodic criticism of President Trump.

According to a new Gallup poll, 56 percent of all Democrats said they view the senator favorably, while just 23 percent of Republicans say the same. Overall, 39 percent of American adults have a favorable view of Romney.

Romney was the only Republican last month to vote in favor of convicting Trump during the impeachment process. He has also refused to endorse Trump during the 2020 election.
