MLB cancels spring training, delays opening day

Major League Baseball will be suspending all operations, including its spring training, out of concerns that its sporting events could help spread the deadly coronavirus sweeping the country and the world. Opening day will also be delayed by at least two weeks.

The news first broke Thursday afternoon from Jeff Passan, an MLB reporter for ESPN.

Passan later wrote that LA Dodgers pitcher David Price effectively confirmed the upcoming cancellation, calling the situation "so much bigger than sports."
