Star right fielder Markus "Mookie" Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers has become one of the few professional athletes to condemn the violent ambush of two L.A. County Sheriff's deputies last weekend.

Using the hashtag "JusticeForAll," the former league MVP tweeted out his prayers for the injured officers.

"I'm angered and disappointed by the ambush of the two LA deputies in Compton," Betts tweeted. "My prayers are with both deputies. ‪#JusticeForAll"

Both officers survived the attack and underwent surgery to save their lives. The male deputy was released from the hospital Wednesday.

The deputy who remains hospitalized is Claudia Apolinar, who provided life-saving care to her partner as they waited for help to arrive, despite sustaining wounds to her face and the torso.
