Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines announced on Wednesday that he and his wife had voluntarily participated in Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine trials and has tested positive for the antibodies to COVID-19.
Daines indicated that it was a blind trial, so he does not know if he actually received the vaccine or a placebo. But since he now tests positive for the antibodies to the virus, there is a high likelihood he received the vaccine.
🔦 The news from Daines came on the same day that Pfizer itself declared that the final data for its COVID-19 vaccine showed an efficacy rate of 95%. It said it plans to produce 50 million doses before the end of this year and an additional 1.3 billion doses in the next.
