An attack on a mosque in Afghanistan killed 62 and left 36 injured Friday, Afghan officials report.
The attack took place as dozens gathered in the mosque for weekly prayers in the eastern Nagarhar province. An insurgent fired a mortar through the roof of the mosque, causing it to collapse. Children were among the wounded and dead.
There has not yet been a claim for responsibility, although both the Taliban and the Islamic State group are active in the area.
