Video: Mounted London officer seriously injured after panicked horse slams him into traffic pole

A mounted police officer in London has reportedly been seriously injured after rioters spooked his horse, which took off in a panicked gallop and slammed the officer face-first into a traffic pole, flipping him off the horse and sending him head-first, backwards, onto the pavement.

Rioters are heard cheering and cursing the officer afterward.


The horse was clearly spooked and bucking while galloping out of control. Ian Miles Cheong, managing editor of Human Events, tweeted that rioters had thrown bricks at the animal and that the officer was seriously injured.

Another tweet, from the man who shared the first video, shows the officer splayed out, apparently unconscious, on the pavement:

Update: After the officer was ejected from the horse, the same riderless horse, still spooked, reportedly ran wild, trampling protesters:
