Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced on Tuesday that she would no longer answer any questions about the sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden, a sign that the Democratic Party is desperate to shore up its defenses as November draws closer.
Pelosi made the announcement on Ari Melber's MSNBC show, "The Beat." When the host began to ask her about the allegation near the end of her interview, Pelosi looked around in an annoyed manner.
Asked if she viewed the allegations as a "closed issue," Pelosi responded: "Well, it is for me."
"I have said that I am proud to support Joe Biden for president. I believe him when he says it didn't happen, but I also believe him when he says let them look into the records. That's what they should do," Pelosi said "But I'm not going to answer this question again."
? Biden has refused to allow media to look into his records at the University of Delaware, claiming that information within them could be "taken out of context" and used against him in the 2020 election.
