Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan on Saturday admitted that he asked God to make the state of Florida the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.

During his three-hour address on July 4 titled "The Criterion," Farrakhan explained that he asked God to "bring down the virus heavily on Florida" because the state "has stood in the way of a better relationship with our government with Cuba."

"Florida was white all the way around, now [they're] deep red. I asked God for that," Farrakhan said. "I asked God to drop death on Florida because [the state] and those who ran out or were run out of Cuba who were members of the Jewish community who lost everything [and their] hatred for Fidel Castro..."

Farrakhan also said Florida has blocked access to Cuban doctors who have already helped those suffering from the virus in Wuhan, China.

"Don't we need something that Cuba has? Yet we have an embargo on Cuba," Farrakhan said. "We want our Cuban doctors to look after us. We don't trust [America doctors]."

He further warned people not to take the coronavirus vaccine when it becomes available.

"I say to my brothers and sisters in Africa... if they come up with a vaccine, be careful," he said. "Do not take their medications. We need to call a meeting of our skilled virologists, epidemiologists, and students of biology and chemistry. We need to give ourselves something better."
