A new national poll from Rasmussen shows President Trump ahead of Democratic contender Joe Biden by a single point.
Last Wednesday, Biden led Trump by 3 points in the same poll, 49% to 46%. The updated poll released Monday shows that Trump not only closed the lead among surveyed voters, but was ahead 48% to 47%.
Rasmussen notes that this is the first time Trump has been ahead in its polling since mid-September. The poll surveyed 1,500 likely voters from October 21-22 and was given a 2.5% reporting margin of error.
The poll also showed that Trump maintains 84% support among Republicans, while Biden has only 77% support from Democrats. Biden, however, reportedly leads by 7% among independent voters.
