New video has emerged showing that in fact two Iranian missiles struck the doomed Ukrainian airliner, sending it plummeting to the ground and all 176 people on board to their deaths.
The New York Times on Tuesday afternoon posted a visual analysis of the footage, which was drawn from security footage from a roof within sight of the tragedy. The video depicts one missile striking the plane, reportedly disabling its transponder; a little more than 20 seconds later, another missile strikes the aircraft. Shortly thereafter the plane can be seen in flames as it flies out of frame.
It was previously believed that only one missile had struck the aircraft.
