A new video has surfaced capturing the moment George Floyd was detained by four members of the Minneapolis Police Department.

The footage, filmed by a passerby from the opposite side of the street, shows two uniformed officers subduing Floyd while Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck, pinning him to the ground. A fourth officer is standing by, monitoring the scene.

With hands cuffed behind his back, Floyd pleaded for his life.

"I can't breathe, man! Please! Please let me stand! Please, I can't breathe," Floyd said.

Floyd did not appear to be resisting or to be a threat to the officers.

The Minneapolis Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the newly released footage.
