As a matter of protocol for any incident involving physical contact, the New York State Executive Chamber reported to police that Gov. Andrew Cuomo may have committed a crime, after a woman aide alleged Cuomo groped her at the executive mansion.
The Albany Times Union reported that the aide, who is yet to file any criminal complaint herself, claimed Cuomo aggressively grabbed her underneath her shirt and began to fondle her. Cuomo has denied the allegations, saying, "I have never done anything like this."
Since the woman's counsel said that she did not wish to file a report, the Executive Chamber is legally compelled to pass the matter on to the police.
The woman's claim is the sixth allegation of sexual misconduct against the Democrat.
