The governors of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut announced Monday morning that they have agreed to a new tri-state plan that will close numerous businesses throughout the states.

Gyms, movie theaters, and casinos will all be shut down at 8 p.m. EST on Monday. All bars and restaurants will remain open for takeout and delivery only, according to state officials.

All gatherings of more than 50 people will also be banned.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the plan was in response to "a lack of federal direction and nationwide standards" and that the federal government has "been behind from day one on this crisis."

All business will remain closed until further notice, Cuomo added.
