Both the officer who shot Daunte Wright and Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon resigned from their respective positions on Tuesday, the city's mayor announced.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identified Kim Potter as the officer who shot Wright on Sunday. Potter, a 26-year veteran of the department, reportedly mistook her firearm for her Taser during the incident.
