Embracing a Bible in the Capitol Building Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged President Trump to ease off his aggressive approach to the nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd.

She then called on the president to help America heal.

"We would hope that the president of the United States would follow the lead of so many other presidents before him to be a healer-in-chief and not a fanner of the flame," Pelosi said.

Pelosi also quoted portions from the book of Ecclesiastes, saying "there's an appointed time for everything." She emphasized that there "is a time to heal" and a "time for peace" before quoting former President George H. W. Bush following the Rodney King riots.
