Planned Parenthood Votes, the political wing of the nationwide abortion provider, has financed a five-figure digital ad campaign in support of Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
The ad campaign features 10- and 15-second ads that include statements from Trump and Biden meant to contrast their policies and leadership strategies.
The video shows Trump saying that he would "veto legislation that weakens pro-life policies," as well as highlights footage from riots, Trump's statements on the coronavirus, and the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The campaign positions Biden as a champion of human rights and includes a clip of Biden saying that healthcare "is a right, not a privilege."
The campaign also features Biden saying he would make Roe v. Wade law and brings up his change of mind to stop supporting the Hyde Amendment, which blocks federal funds from paying for abortions. It also touches on the Black Lives Matter movement and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, better known as DACA.
The ads will run in the battleground states of Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Arizona, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Colorado.
