Dallas police have identified three suspects in connection with the killing of Joshua Brown, the neighbor of Botham Jean and key witness in the murder trial of Amber Guyger. Authorities have said that the killing was the result of a confrontation during a drug deal.

Police said they have arrested Jacquerious Mitchell, 20, and have issued arrest warrants for Thaddeous Charles Green, 22, and Michael Diaz Mitchell, 32.

The three men were buying marijuana from Brown when he was killed, Assistant Chief Avery Moore said. Moore also emphasized that the killing was not related to Brown’s testimony during Guyger’s trial.

Brown, 28, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot Friday night.

All three suspects have been charged with capital murder. The trio came from Alexandria, Louisiana, to buy drugs from Brown before the transaction turned into an altercation.

Jacquerious Mitchell was treated at Parkland Hospital for wounds acquired during the incident. He allegedly told authorities that Green shot Brown twice.

The other two suspects fled the state after dropping off Mitchell at the hospital, according to authorities.
