Police raided the east campus of Chengdu Fountain of Life Church during the Sunday worship service where officers seized and transported Elder Zha Changping, his wife, and three other Christians to the police station.

After being interrogated all afternoon, the five Christians were released.

Believers of Chengdu Fountain of Life Church are often targeted by state security agents and are pressured during interrogations. Zha had been summoned multiple times by police in the past for interrogation. The east campus of Fountain of Life Church, where the March 7 raid took place, meets at Zha's home.

Police had also recently raided and confiscated property from the ERCC school. Students were intimidated by officers and forced to leave the school. Police also directed landlords to evict congregants of the church .
