Joe Biden's cratering performance in the Democratic primaries can be at least partly explained by his waning support from black voters, who have recently begun to turn to Mike Bloomberg as their candidate of choice.

A Quinnipiac University poll shows that black voter support of the former vice president has fallen from 52 percent in January to just 27 percent on Wednesday. Bloomberg, meanwhile, went from eight percent support among black voters to 22 percent on Wednesday.

Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City, has recently been scrambling to shore up his own image among black voters, on Friday apologizing once more for his role in the controversial "stop-and-frisk" policy used by New York City police.
